Did some planning...
Spoke with my aunt in BC last night to plan my trip for the summer. Figured out the date, and I’ll be going to see a weekend-long Highland Game near Seattle… and possibly going to Seattle as well! Definitely going to explore Van, and hopefully some outdoorsy stuff closer to my family’s home. I am so excited!! Pretty much beyond words, though I feel tempted to use the word...

Completely chuffed. Got 33/40 on that ridiculous International Organizations exam. Wouldn’t normally be thrilled about 82.5% but given the average, I’m pleased. (Relative vs. absolute gains, haha). If the prof bell curves up 7 pts like he plans, I’ll end up with 40/40.
In related news, I am now a permanent member of the course security council. Aww yeee.

Self esteem does have a lot to do with the media/advertising machine. My question is how do I take it back?

Stressful night at work (but much less so than Friday - no tension headache today!)
Sometimes I think my cat only likes the food I pour into his bowl and not me.
Pepto Bismol tablets give me hiccups.

I can’t believe it… a kid I taught in the summer of 2009 died in a car crash. Cadets brings so many people together, so many people that I would never have met otherwise. I hope that her family is comforted by the enormous number of people who will be keeping Jessica in their hearts. Rest in peace, go on to heaven on the wings of our thoughts.

Be kind to others. It makes a world of a difference. There will always be those individuals that do not deserve your kindness, but do it anyway as a means of leading by example.
We all have our days. Be someone others can lean on.
And most important of all, be kind to yourself.
Sometimes the last one is the hardest to remember but take all three to heart, every day.

For the first time in well over two and a half years, and on the worst day possible for it, I’m single.
Weird.

Explaining the economic crisis in Greece →
staying-palindromic:
So this article by Mother Jones really spells out what’s going on in Greece in understandable terms. For those of you like me who understand that the economy is important and want to know more, but can’t often wrap your heads around the jargon or know enough about economics to truly understand what people are talking about cause economics is hard, this is a good read.

A little back story to my earlier question:
I applied for an Associate Food Editor position. The requirements were relatively minimal when it came to skills. It asked for more detailed experience and education than the skills section. I haven’t been professionally trained but I’ve been networking…
I think if anything, they will look positively on ambition and a...
